No time to exercise? 20 minute exercise plan for busy people.

Ok, I remember what it was like (before exercising was my job) when I would rush from a long day at work straight to the gym feeling exhausted and trying to push myself for 45 minutes before I would run home, cook dinner, shower, then I’d have to go to bed and do it all over again. Let’s be real, that kind of lifestyle is manageable for only a few of us and fun for even less of us. But what I often tell my clients is that your workout plan and training sessions HAVE to suit YOU. At the end of the day I can list off dozens of workout plans, exercises, classes, and motivational speeches, but if none of them suit your lifestyle and preferences then I’d be as well saying nothing. We all know roughly what we ‘should’ be doing to keep ourselves fit and healthy but there’s usually a reason that we’re not achieving our goals (and you guessed it, it’s not a lack of willpower!!)

Time is a big one for a lot of my clients, especially those at the start of their careers where there is a whole bunch of learning, work, and high expectations (usually our own) to manage in our working week. So with that in mind I’ve put together a 20 minute work out that you can do at home with little to no equipment. I can guarantee that for most of us that is a FRACTION of the time we spend daily on social media, doing online shopping, or facebook stalking someone haven’t seen since second year of high school…So if you can’t free up 20 minute three times a week maybe you can re-jig something to make it work?

Anyway, here goes:

Warm up: light cardio (walking, dance around, air squats) for 5 mins

Wall Sits: (40 second hold) Add a weight if you need an extra challenge!

Push Ups: 12 reps

Band Pulls:12 reps

Plank: 8 breaths -keep them slow and steady, don't breath quicker to get it over with ;) !

1 minute rest

Repeat twice more (3 sets in total)

That’s it! Then you have the rest of the night to yourself. I know it can be hard to fit in exercise, but it really is a form of investing in ourselves and our health. These things don’t often start to manifest until we are in our 50’s and 60’s but how we treat our bodies affects our health 30 years down the line.

Happy training team. Like, share, or comment to tell me how you got on!
