Ok, so whether we like it or not losing weight, maintaining our current weight, or putting on weight (usually!) comes down to energy balance. Due to the surge in weight loss clients I've had recently I've popped together 6 of my favourite low calorie recipes for a light lunch or dinner. Helping us hit our protein goals without eating heavy meats and lots of saturated and hydrogenated fats. Sounds good to me!...

- Greek Gyros- This is one of my favourites! I reckon it would be pretty adaptable to being vegetarian too, I just haven't tried it yet damndelicious.net/2020/02/23/greek-chicken-gyros/
- Egg muffins - I love these most for how quick and easy they are, so I often make them on a busy work day dailyappetite.com/baked-kale-and-cheddar-breakfast-cups/
- Tofu bowl - If you've ever had gross wet tofu, please don't give up on it. Make sure you flavour it lots (it will soak up whatever flavouring you throw at it) and this recipe cooks it in the oven for maximum crispiness. So many of my friends have thought they hated tofu when they had only ever had it badly cooked. sweetsimplevegan.com/2018/04/restaurant-style-teriyaki-tofu-bowls/
- Salmon Sushi bowl- This is another favourite! So easy to make and so light. You definitely don't feel bogged down after eating a sushi bowl. www.pinterest.co.uk/pin/164874036344805520/
- Peanut protein bowls- Ok, these aren't particularly low in calories but they do help a sweet tooth like me get in enough protein for the day... deliciouslyella.com/peanut-butter-energy-balls/
- Prawn Pasta - Quick, easy, and delicious! (I use pre-cooked praws because it's easier, I'm a convenience kind of gal) www.documentingmydinner.com/2020/01/17/garlic-prawn-and-tomato-spaghetti/
