How to make time for exercise

Whether we like it or not the reality is that exercise is a form of investing in ourselves. It helps our health, keeps us fit, combats premature aging, helps with stress, low mood, tiredness, and the list goes on! Basically, if we could bottle it and sell it everyone would want some! But fortunately for us, it doesn’t come down to taking some miracle pill, it comes down to us. All we have to do is take action towards being healthy and well through movement. I know that most people today are short on time and energy, it feels like the world goes at a million miles an hour and on top of everything else that workout feels like just another box to tick before we get to curl up on the sofa and relax but it doesn’t have to be an all or nothing scenario. You don’t have to spend hours a day exercising if that doesn’t fit in with your lifestyle all you need is 20 minutes every other day to see a difference. If you can free up 20-30 minutes three times a week then you have time to exercise, if you can’t them maybe you're not in a place where you can prioritise exercise and general health. I’m not going to tell you what is or isn’t important but what I will say is that it’s a whole lot harder to make up for years of inactivity when you’re in your late 60’s than if you just keep moving (even if that’s general everyday activities like walking more or taking the stairs). Exercise is an important part of a healthy lifestyle and it can actually help us feel more energised and reduce our stress, and I’m going to guess that a lot of people feel tired just from stress(!) So, yes exercise is a form of investing in yourself and your future.

In my next blog post I’ll give you some ideas about how to get a good workout in 20-30 minutes!

In the meantime happy training team
